76 days

76 days 1824 hours 109440 minutes is how long I have been dealing with this low-grade temperature and honestly right now there is no end in sight. I have had these low grade temperatures before. A low grade temperature is technically anything (98.8-100.4 and lasts for more than 24 hours). I have had these on and off for quite a while -  some were happening before I got really sick - like that brief period I was in college but then it would go away. So my doctors are assuming that my body was already going to trigger whatever auto immune thing this is; but when I got the cellulitis it really woke up! Since 2016 after I was in the hospital I would get low grade temps normally not anything above 100 and it would only last 2-3 days at max. Then this summer in July I had one that lasted for 3 weeks and went a bit above 100 so we went to the doctor and did a lot of blood tests and everything came back fine or low positive, not enough to diagnose anything. August-October it was starting to

Living in a ADA House

Image
It has been too long again! I think with the new year and setting new goals, I am going to write down to blog in my planner and I think that will help. I can't believe I haven't blogged about our blessing house more! I did a poll recently on Instagram asking which topic I should blog about and this one won by a landslide. So here it is: How living in an ADA house has changed my life for the better.   I will attach photos about what I am talking about at the bottom of this blog. For some reason when I do it in the middle the blog gets all mixed up especially on a mobile device.  So if you don't know how or why "The Blessing House" got to be you can read that blog post here  http://abby4110.blogspot.com/2018/07/the-blessing-house.html . Anyways, tomorrow will mark 3 months living in this house. I am still getting used to some things but that will all come together soon :).   In the old house I had to be really careful about how I used my spoons (energy). I could

Feeling Lost

Image
It has been way too long since I have done a blog. There have been so many topics that I have been wanting to blog about I have been almost too overwhelmed to sit down and write one. I kept pushing it off. Life has been a little hectic since moving into the new house and my body going into another flare up, but with that being said, today I finally found time to sit down and write.     So, last month (November) I didn't have any doctor appointments scheduled (crazy I know) so I set a goal to stay out of the doctor's office the whole month! Which I did and I was very proud of that. I missed the "normalcy" of not having to go to the doctor all the time. There was one week I almost had to go in because I wasn't feeling good and it wasn't clearing up but then thankfully it did and I didn't have to go in. Then I turned the calendar over and in December I have doctor appointments galore! My doctor appointments seem to be on the same schedule 3 months or 6 month

How My Body Feels

Image
I often get asked what does your pain feel like? The easiest way and shortest way to describe it is it basically feels like the flu aches. That is the fibromyalgia pain. The "unknown" (meaning the diagnosis they are waiting on) other pain I experience - the joint pain is different. That is like a burning, stiff, pressure aching pain. I did a "poll" on Instagram this week because I knew if I did that 1. They would help me decide on what to write 2. I would be held accountable and couldn't back out. The 2 blog options were A. The physical and mental pain I experience like how my body feels. B. July-September have been crazy for me. Long story short I have been in a big flare up since end of July running low grade temps etc, thought we were finally going to get the blood work we needed since I was in a flare and get some answers but blood work came back like always and we were left with no new information. So many people voted for option A, so that is what this blo

The Blessing House

Image
As I have started posting some pictures of our new house on social media people kept wanting to know more and I thought it may be easier to just write a blog about how this all started. As some of you know we are moving this fall, and if you didn't know, well now you do. Some of you also know how this dream all started and some do not. You may be thinking - how does this house have anything to do with your chronic illness. Well it actually has a lot to do with this dream and how everything all started. Let's rewind back to last year before school started. Our associate pastor talked to my mom about this dream she had. She said this verse "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." James 1:27. She just felt like God was telling her to do something to help us.  We lost Dad and then our current house was becoming difficult for me to continue living in with my

WEGO Health Award Nomination

Image
Hi! This isn't my typical blog post - today is a little different. I wanted to share some exciting news! I was nominated for a WEGO Health Award for best in show blog. WEGO Health is a company that connects the healthcare industry with Patient Leaders. Patient Leaders are people like me who share our experiences, our feelings, and continually fight to raise awareness. The mission of WEGO is to empower our voice so that is why all these awards were created. There are 16 award categories so to be nominated for one is so exciting! Winning this award would mean so much to me, it will help raise awareness by getting this blog out. The whole reason why I started this blog was to share my experiences and feelings and just get people to understand more of what someone goes through. I wanted to raise awareness. Before I was diagnosed I didn't really know a lot about all of the auto-immune conditions and all the invisible illnesses. I wish I could have been more educated and that there
